Andrew has 30 years experience in European retail banking and payments including time spent working in card issuing, merchant acquiring, business strategy and payment processing. He has an interest in innovative emerging payment services and the impact of European regulation in shaping the competitive environment.
Before he joined Tender Armor Andrew was a senior analyst at Aite Group, and spent time as an independent consultant, among other things helping a new UK start up establish an internet-based sales channel. A large part of his career was with RBS. He led RBS WorldPay’s compliance program to meet the requirements of the 2009 Payment Services Directive, represented the business as part of a European banking consortium that explored options for a new payment scheme, and led several initiatives to take the business into new markets. He has also held senior roles in the strategy and business analysis functions of the cards business, and as a project manager within the retail bank.
Andrew’s career began in research and consultancy roles with Retail Banking Research Ltd focusing on new technology and innovation in banking. Andrew holds an M.B.A. from Manchester Business School and a B.A. from the University of Manchester.
